World Mental Health Day — Today’s world’s priority

10 th October – World Mental Health Day :
Mental health includes emotional, psychological and social well-being . Mental health is more than the absence of a mental illness and it is essential for our overall health and quality of life .
People having mental health issues might be found in our family or staying next door or working in the same office with us.
However, only half of those affected receive treatment often because of the social stigma attached to mental health problems .
India has one of the highest prevalence of mental illness globally . Depression and Anxiety spectrum disorders are the most common mental disorders in India.

Self Care can help coping with mental health issues :

  1. Get regular physical exercise .
  2. Make sleep a priority
  3. Do relaxing activity regularly.
  4. Eat healthy food and stay hydrated .
  5. Practice showing gratitude towards others ( those who have really helped )
  6. Focus on positivity and positive thinking
  7. Stay connected with friends, family members who can provide emotional support and help .
  8. Most Importantly – Consult Neuropsychiatrist as early as possible
